The City of Pleasantville Public Works Department is divided into (4) four Divisions:
- The Street Division handles all yard waste, metal and white goods collections for City Residents; also storm drains, street cleaning and repairs.
- The Water Pollution Control handles all Sewer Lines and Pump Stations in the City.
- The Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ) handles all Litter Control in the City.
- The Building and Grounds handles all maintenance and repairs to the City Buildings and Properties.

ATTENTION PLEASANTVILLE RESIDENTS!
EFFECTIVE JUNE 27, 2005 - THE FOLLOWING AMENDMENT HAS AFFECTED CITY'S CHAPTER 247: SOLID WASTE AND RECYCLING
Yard waste (leaves, grass, clean wood and brush) shall be placed in bio-degradable paper bags (bags which are designed to decompose by natural process) or rigid reusable trash containers. Yard waste in plastic bags shall not be permitted and shall not be collected in any part of the weekly collections.

Recycling Guidelines
Listed below are the guidelines that the ACUA Atlantic County Utilities Authority collection crews will follow:
Two items of bulky waste will be collected curbside with the weekly MSW collection - Bulky waste is defined as furniture, uncontaminated textiles, small appliances, wood waste, and tires with rims removed.
Tires - Two per resident will be collected provided that they have had the metal rims removed. No tires will be collected from commercial establishments.
Wood Waste - Will be collected as bulky waste item if it is of manageable size, four feet in length, tied and bundled or placed in a trash container.
Construction and Demolition Material (C&D) - If the material is generated by a homeowner as the result of construction, demolition, or remodeling of their residence, it will be collected curbside. The material must be placed in a container or properly prepared for collection. If a contractor performs the work, the C&D material must be hauled and disposed of properly by the homeowner or contractor.
White Goods and Metals - All white goods and metals will be collected by the Pleasantville Public Works Department.
Yard Waste - All yard waste will be collected by Pleasantville Public Works Department.
